1. Jalswarajya Project (Govt. of Maharashtra): Polytest Laboratories played a crucial role in the water quality testing under the Jalswarajya project, which aimed to improve rural water supply and sanitation through community participation. The Department of Water Supply and Sanitation ranked Polytest among the top three labs out of 32 qualified state-level labs for its capability and resourcefulness. We meticulously located sources and collected around 6000 samples from diverse terrains within a month. A special testing setup with QA/QC measures was established, resulting in 90000 data points presented thematically using a GIS-based system.
2. Evaluation of Health Outcomes in Rural Maharashtra (American consortium/World Bank): Polytest Laboratories supported this evaluation by identifying sources, sampling, preserving samples under a 10° cold-chain management, and using our 24-hour logistics network to rush samples to the lab. We analyzed significant microbiological parameters from 18000 households over two rounds in one year. This comprehensive survey assessed the impact of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene (WSH) interventions on young children’s health and rural livelihoods.
3. Environmental Mapping for an Industrialized ULB in Maharashtra: Polytest Laboratories conducted a pilot project to map the pollution inventory, including water, noise, air, and land environments. The data was analyzed thematically using GIS to provide decision-makers with an analytical tool for environmental planning integration. We routinely undertake extended duration projects covering all seasons to measure and trend spatial and temporal variations in regional river pollution levels, encompassing 500 – 1000 points.
4. Remote Sampling and Monitoring Assignments: Polytest Laboratories frequently handles short-term assignments involving sampling and monitoring groundwater, air, noise, and micro-meteorology in remote locations.
